Today we read the Rocket Red: A Little Ant with a Big Dream by Cheryl DaVeiga and Dave Gibson illustrated by Remesh Ram. It is an uplifting story of an ant with a big dream of becoming a rock star. He runs into some trouble on the way, but with the help of his friends and community, he ultimately achieves his dreams. This story is so fun and engaging and included some wonderful puns! The illustrations are bright, colorful, and eye-catching. The book also asks readers to count the ants in the book and includes a QR code to check your answer on their interactive website. The website has super catchy songs to go along with all the books in the Biff Bam Booza @biffbambooza family, including the award-winning War at the Ice Cream Store. Rocket Red is a wonderful book and it is easy to see what it is highly recommended by the Midwest Book Review. I give this one five stars and will definitely be reading it again and again.
After we read we made a list of all the ways Red’s friends helped him in the book, then we brainstormed and made a list of ways Paige could help her friends. We talk a lot in our house about being a good friend and surrounding ourselves with good friends and this book was a perfect way to start a conversation about how your friends should lift you up and help you achieve your goals.

Thank you @cheryldaveiga and @biffbambooza for this wonderfully positive, engaging, fun book! I so appreciate the positive messages your books put out in to the world and I’m so glad to share these with Paige!
The learning paige
A wonderful book about following your dreams! Anthony Ant wanted to make music for people. However, the Queen Bee had a different job for him, carrying food to the colony. One day, however, Anthony’s dreams come true. He’s making music for all the people at the picnic, along with his band. A great story teaching kids to never stop dreaming, persistence and hard work will make a difference. I loved how there was a page with cool facts about ants in the back – most of which I didn’t know! I love learning right along with my son. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. You’ll definitely want to Rock Out with Rocket Red!
